Ukrainian pres orders to cut single-source gas import share to 30%
KIEV, Dec 3 (PRIME) -- Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky ordered the government to diversify the imports sources of gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), oil products and anthracite so that the share of one supplier is no higher than 30% until July 1, 2020.
Ukraine ceased gas purchases from Russia in November 2015. From June 1, Russian companies can supply coal to Ukraine only under permissions provided by the Russian Economic Development Ministry. The measures were introduced in retaliation to restrictions on imports of Russian goods introduced by Kiev in April. Coal supplies dropped by 85.3% on the year to 12,300 tonnes in June 2019.
